Grand Gourmet Competition Final

On Friday 18 December, eight finalists, from throughout France, created their Christmas dessert at Valrhona’s Ecole du Grand Chocolat.
An expert panel of judges, including Franck Vidal, Director of Valrhona’s Ecole du Grand Chocolat, Julie Haubourdin, Head of Gourmet Training, and Jérémie Runel and Sébastien Curtalin, Pastry Chefs, was present to select the winners.The winner was awarded a myriad of prizes. These included a Journey of Chocolate Discovery for two, composed of a private workshop, a step-by-step tour of Valrhona’s chocolate factory, an exploratory trip “Backstage at the Cité du Chocolat”, and, the final touch – a “Purely Chocolate” taste-experience dinner at Umia, the restaurant belonging to Frédéric Bau.
